Hi and thank you for visiting this page. Though for most of my career I had been a music teacher, the practice of yoga has been a significant part of my life for about the past 25 years. After retiring, it felt like a "calling" for me to train as a yoga teacher so that I could share my PASSION for the INCREDIBLE BENEFITS that this practice offers. Like many of us, I have been prone to anxiety, mild depression, and have also struggled with weight and food issues. I am very pleased to say that most, if not all of the above is very much under control due to the PRACTICE OF YOGA! To add to this are the more obvious benefits of feeling/being more PHYSICALLY FIT. Though there are too many facets of this amazing practice to describe here, my students will tell you that I LOVE to share many of them during each class, often tinged with HUMOR. It is my hope that my students will not only derive ENJOYMENT from class, but will also leave with a renewed sense of BALANCE, STRENGTH, and WELLBEING in not only their bodies, but their minds and spirits as well. My ultimate hope is that this practice of RENEWAL will be both ENRICHING and HEALING, contributing to true INNER PEACE and CONTENTMENT.
I also have trained and have been volunteering through an organization called Kula for Karma at Valley Hospital, Englewood Hospital, and Oradell Brain and Spine. Most recently I have been teaching at the John Theurer Center at Hackensack Hospital and the Debra Simon Center.
Medical doctors, including cardiologists, oncologists, and others are now prescribing yoga to their patients as an important addition to the care that they are receiving. This certainly gives a lot of credence to the scientifically proven benefits of YOGA!
*The original location of my studio has recently changed from a lovely lakeside location in N. Haledon, NJ to another very nice location next to a marina in Highlands, NJ.
