HOLIDAY YOGA SESSION 2024-25
As a theme for our new HOLIDAY session, I believe that “Yoga for Stress Relief” is appropriate. I find the holidays to be frenetic, with so much to do, often overwhelming. To stay healthy and calm, our classes will consist of slow, smooth, and gentle transitions between poses with lots of focus on breath and relaxation. Some restorative poses will be included as well. The perfect way to “handle whatever comes your way”. (Our 12 Days of Yoga class is a bit more energizing😊)
WHEN: Tues classes to begin: Dec 3rd- Jan 7th
Wed/Thurs classes to begin: Dec 4/5- Jan. 8/9th
*(Classes NOT scheduled for X-Mas week)
FEE: $80 for 5 weeks (Classes are 70-75 min) AND 2X’s per week = $145

Only pay for 9 classes= $144 ($16.00 per 70-75 min class)
As the season changes from summer to fall so goes our bodies and mindset.
Allow YOGA WITH LORNA to help you to maintain BALANCE in your practice and lives. (Balance will be part of our focus) I hope that you will join us in September for this session. Please see details below. I am also hoping that by including 1 extra class, it will help you to offset a class that you may miss. (If possible, a twice weekly practice certainly helps to reinforce its effects on our bodies and minds.) Make ups can also be taken at other class times.

SUMMER CHAKRA 7 WEEK SERIES 2024
The practice of yoga is one that is endless in the pursuit of learning more about oneself and helping our bodies and minds to open up to this knowledge. In the process, we are receiving the gift of feeling/being replenished, revitalized, and reinvigorated.

Our 7 wk summer series will focus on our 7 chakras.
For those of you unfamiliar with chakras (actually pronounced CHAKRAS like CHA CHA and not SHAKRAS as many believe) –I will very briefly describe:
There are 7 Chakras – or “energy centers” in our bodies. Each one of these chakras are located up a “central channel” in our bodies—and it is believed that when there is a physical/energetic blockage at specific points on this channel –our minds and emotions are affected accordingly as briefly described below.
1. Root Chakra- Represents our foundation and feeling of being grounded. (location- base of spine). When in balance- strong/confident- Out of balance- low self- esteem, self- destructive behaviors
2. Sacral Chakra- Represents our connection and ability to accept others and new experiences. (location- abdomen) When in balance- creative, positive, receptive to change. When out of balance- emotionally unstable, guilty, hard on yourself
3. Solar Plexus Chakra- Represents our ability to feel confident and in control of our lives. When in balance- good self- esteem and confidence. When out of balance-lack of courage, low self-esteem, stagnant
4. Heart Chakra- Represents our ability to love. When in balance- love unconditionally, form healthy relationships, forgiveness, acceptance. When out of balance-possessive, dependent, dysfunctional relationships
5.Throat Chakra- Represents our ability to communicate. When in balance- ability to communicate emotions and ideas in a clear and healthy way. When out of balance- blocked. Cannot find voice or truth.
6. Third Eye Chakra- (location-forehead between eyes) Represents our ability to focus on and see the big picture. When in balance- have insight, trust inner wisdom. When out of balance- closeminded, too attached to logic, untrusting, cynical
7. Crown Chakra- The highest chakra represents our ability to be fully connect spiritually. When in balance- feel free in any situation. When out of balance- You feel that happiness can only come from the outside.
A well- tuned Yoga practice can free up energy and stimulate an imbalanced chakra.
· Each week I would like to tap into one of the chakras as a way of helping you to connect and move your energy in the direction that you would like it to go.
In this 7- week series- we will focus on one chakra per week with a yoga practice that will still be strong, balanced, and inclusive. For the best benefit—practicing twice a week is most beneficial- though one time per week will certainly be instructive and effective.
**No previous experience is necessary to appreciate, enjoy, and benefit from these classes.

Welcome back to reboot and renew our minds and bodies to prepare for spring! Our bodies mimic nature. As the thaw begins in nature so do we begin to release our bodies from their winter cocoon. Come enjoy the sensations that this unfolding brings to us! Join our small and caring community.
